<p>SANFORD, Maine — Denise Neal returned to her home on Twombley Road and sensed that something was up. She could smell it.</p>
<p>The house had &#8220;an extreme paint smell,&#8221; she said.</p>
<p>Even stranger, the food pantry was &#8230; clean. Organized. Neal and her husband, John, had been meaning to tackle that room for years.</p>
<p>As Neal looked over the pantry — and wondered what exactly was going on — a woman she had never met before seemed to come out of nowhere and introduced herself as Amy Santin, the general manager of the Old Navy clothing store in Newington, N.H.</p>
